Summer Reading Challenge

The Summer Reading Challenge 2020 launches Friday 5th June. Whilst we can’t deliver it in the same way, we hope we can still encourage lot of children across North Yorkshire to take part and get reading! As well as following your local library on Facebook, we recommend you also follow @nycclibraries and @SummerReadingChallengeUK.

Children, aged 4-11, can sign up for Silly Squad, the 2020 Summer Reading Challenge, from Friday 5th June! It’s a great way to keep track of your reading over the summer months as well as finding out about new authors and getting lots of reading inspiration. Just visit https://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/ to sign up.

You can read books that you already have at home but if you fancy trying something new we have e-books and e-audiobooks for children available to borrow for free. Check out Overdrive for e-books and BorrowBox, RBdigital and Overdrive for e-audiobooks https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/digital-library
