Welcome to the home page of Kirkbymoorside Community Library and Information Centre. We have existed as a community library since transitioning from a County Library on 1st April 2017. The library is now entirely managed and run by dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers. Our aim is to keep the library at the very heart of the community, providing a safe place for contact, information and support to all.
We’re here for all ages and the library is free to join. Just call in and you’ll be a member in a few minutes. You can then borrow books, large-print editions, books for children and teens, rent audio books and movies on DVD and use library services. We have public use computers and a home library service is available for those not able to access the library.
We are a library run for the community by the community, working in partnership with North Yorkshire County Council.

Library Opening Hours and Restrictions
We have been open successfully since 12 April with stringent Covid19 protocols and with restrictions on public PC availability (currently 2) and numbers of visitors allowed at any one time. Masks must be worn (unless exempt) and test and trace is in operation, either manually or by scanning the QR code on entry.
We are open for browsing and borrowing and the need for quarantining of returned books is no longer necessary. The library has also recently received some new stock with more to come.
Opening hours are:
Monday to Saturday between 09.30am and 12.00pm and to 2.30pm on Wednesday
Further increased hours and relaxation of measures will be introduced in time when we are able to do so.
For further information, or to book computer time, please telephone 01609 534557 during opening times or email firstname.lastname@example.org
